Life without Telecommunication

January 6th, 2010

Well early this morning while I was running ProPresenter3 for Men Fraternity at Kearney eFree Church, I spilled my coffee. Now lets first say that this coffee was actually really good, so bummer point number 1. Secondly, my Blackberry Tour was right in the path of this coffee cups dumping of its wonderful coffee, bummer point 2. I instantly removed the battery and tried to dry off the phone, but it was already fried.

So no phone for me today and I won’t have my new one ’til tomorrow afternoon or whenever it arrives at work. THis is going to be a great time for me to learn how to not depend on my phone. For those of you that know me well, I use it ALOT. I have had months where I send and receive 22000 text messages, use loads of data, and am always on Twitter and Facebook.

Have you had to go without your phone or something you can’t seem to live with for a day or longer? I would love to hear your stories, because well all I have for communication is my Macbook and iPod touch. Thank God for internet! Lets hope the internet doesn’t go down like it did in a South Park episode recently. If it does, I know who to call ;) . Missed the episode? See it here.

Have a great day everyone!

Trip to Chicago

August 10th, 2009

Well my yearly trip to Chicago, IL has finally come and my dad and I are leaving this week! I thought I would blog about my trip and let you all know about my festivities this week.

Wednesday, I will head to Omaha to be staying the night. I know I will defiantly be having Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner that night!

Thursday, we fly out of Omaha Eppley Airfield early that morning and arrive in Chicago. After arriving in Chicago we will head downtown to eat lunch. Then we will jump over to Wrigley Field and see the Chicago Cubs take on the Philadelphia Phillies! Dinner that night is unknown and then we will retreat to downtown Chicago and hang out at the ESPN Zone, then crash in our condo we are staying at along Lake Michigan.

Friday, in the morning we are making a stop at Central Steel and Wire company, my dad does business with them, and my dad is going to have a quick meeting with them. (This is the boring part of the trip). After the meeting we will once again head downtown for lunch and another Cubs game as they take on the Pittsburgh Pirates. This game is going to be televised, and as my dad sat in these same seats last year, I saw him over and over in the background. These seats for Friday’s game are 6 rows behind the Cubs bench and I can be seen every time they do a side shot of the left handed batters. All I know about dinner that night is its Italian… How the end of that night goes is unknown.

Saturday, is the annual Chicago Air & Water Show. In the morning we are getting up and heading down to the beach, jumping on a boat, and watching all the cool planes and boats at the show. We will be spending most of our day there, then retreating back to the condo. I know we are spending the rest of the evening and night in downtown Chicago. (This is when I make my trip to the Apple Store and get my Macbook shell replaced).

Sunday, in the morning we make an early trip back to Chicago Midway Airport where we depart for Omaha and head back home.

I know I am going to have a great weekend with my father. This is something I look forward to every year. Be sure to stay tuned I will be uploading photos and videos every night of the day’s activities.  Also be sure to follow me on Twitter!

Have a great week everyone!

404′d Page

July 26th, 2009

As I was accessing my website earlier today, I ran across my 404 page. I noticed that my template for Wordpress had designed one, but the picture was weird. So I went in and changed the picture. Then this made me wonder if anyone else customizes their 404 pages. I would love to hear if you do or don’t and what type of design you may use for it. Leave your response in the comments section!

I know @aaronasay and @austinasay named them from the Mr. Messy series. Leave your comments below. I would love to hear how you name your drives.
