you can take it a step further and use Google Sync on your BlackBerry to sync with your Google contacts and calendar. That way you don’t have to manually sync with your computer all the time. I’ve been using GooSync for a long time and it’s a really great OTA sync app.

Good read. Same can be said about Virginia Tech fans when they came here last year and what they experienced. I remember pre and post to that game, where a group of us guys ran into their fans and they invited us to Blacksburg for this years game just because of how we know how to celebrate football. They like the show that we put on in the stadium and the way we treat teams with respect.

@Lance Lance, thanks for the info! I did think about VM and try that to test, but I devised a way to image the drive and replace it because I did some searching and reading and I really do not think I will have any problems now that SP2 is out. I will just look closer to Win7 and drop that on the machines in December. @Danny Martin Danny, thanks for your idea and help. It should all work out the way it needs to!

If you have decent hardware you may just try setting up a VM, installing your Vista on it, installing your apps on it, seeing if it blows up, and then either way, you can throw the VM away and decide what to do with your live machine. We do ridiculous stuff on VMs all the time so that we can roll back and/or install half-baked builds on them without the risk of borking our personal machines. Sort of like what you’re trying without the contingency plan.

If you’re not familiar with virtualization it’s not hard to figure out. Maybe give it a google.

Steve if you don’t get yourself to Gino’s East Pizzeria at Michigan and Superior for some real Pizza, I will never be able to read your blog the same way again lol. Ok so rumor has it that since I was last at the Original location at Michigan and Superior in March, it may have moved. If so, according to Wikipedia the relocated ORIGINAL Gino’s East is now at 633 North Wells Street.
Either way, you won’t taste a better pizza than Gino’s but it’s got to be the original location or the experience is totally shot. Make some magic for our Cubbies too while you’re there bro.

It’s true most of the world doesn’t appreciate what is around them. It is scary that at one point people would use trees, boulders, and rivers as markers and boundaries, now we hardly see what’s past the edge of the pavement. There is so much beauty, so much happening around us that we lose sight of it all. It is a giant universe, but it doesn’t seem like a good enough excuse to let it disappear before we ever knew it was there. Sometimes we are selfish and focus only on what is impacting ourselves. We hardly realize the rain that is all around us, unless there’s a leak. Yet, that weather is amazing, it bring us our food, and for some people, hope. So, what if we don’t slow down, what’s going to happen to our world? Will we stop believing in miracles because they aren’t on our agenda? Or is there a way to get people to notice that butterfly flitting around the yard?

I wouldn’t say that age is a big factor in this discussion. It may seem like the best answer right now – but realistically – it’s real experience that will give a person credibility.

You mention that you have great musicians who know what they’re doing in #2, but then you say that they ignore your opinions… this is probably just because while you may be a great FOH operator, you haven’t proven yourself as a musician to them – musicians are just “like” that – they only take advise of those who they feel are “better” than them… that’s just the Musician-Side of things.

I have always had the problem with age and older people listening to me. I’m just about to turn 19 and those that are older sometimes have a harder time thinking that someone so much younger can know more; even though I have been doing this for almost six years now.

Great post! You might talk with the musicians on #5. It would be good to know why they ignore your suggestions. Maybe it’s an age issue. Maybe they think they know better than you. Maybe they do know better. If you show them you are trying to help and trying to get better at what you do, they will probably be willing to help you where they can.

iTunes? Really? I’m sorry but I’m going to have to very much disagree. Not only does winamp do the same thing, but has a smaller foot print and don’t ask for 30 meg updates all the time. If system resources are tight, Foobar works nice too.

A lot of performance issues can stop building up and creating bottlenecks if the HDD is well maintained. It has to be cleaned from time to time to avoid excess load and also checked for fragmentation . A great way to keep the PC zipping fast is never forget to run diskcleanup from time to time and I would personally recommend a superior defragger like Diskeeper over the built in one or the freewares. It can be set on auto mode and defrags are really neat.
